Set on the southern slope of the Sierra de Santa Bárbara, Higuera de la Sierra combines a protected historic centre with an easy escape into the dehesa landscape. Walk past San Sebastián Church and traditional chapels, then follow the short Camino de las Tobas to a limestone spring and seasonal cascade. The town’s defining tradition is its elaborate Three Kings parade, staged with living biblical scenes every 5 January and interpreted year-round at the Cabalgata Museum. It is a rewarding, compact stop for heritage, local food and gentle walking.
